How do I...?
Ok, this is probably a lame question for you pros but I'm new to forums. How do you bring a quote from a post into a reply? Is it just a copy and paste thing?

Re: How do I...?
Someone else will have to answer this one and I'm looking forward to the answer. The other forum I belong to I always copy and paste but it looks like here there is a different way. Looking forward to learning!

Is this what you mean? I quoted you in my post? I hit the "quote" button in the upper right hand corner of your post and it brought up a replly box with your message quoted

Very good Q! And different on many forums. I like this one.
If you only want to quote some words: Take the whole quote and erase the words you don't want to use.
You can also copy and paste words from a posting and put
before and [/ quote] (no spaces) behind them.
If you like to be clear who posted the lines than put the name into the first code like:
(no spaces)
that gives the nice line: DetteSophie wrote:
Rule for the forum: Do NOT change the words of someone. That can be very confusing for people.

Hey that's pretty neat. I never noticed the quote button

Hope this worked.

Re: How do I...?
You need to add the / between the [ and the word quote. As Carlos says "That oughta do it!"
Re: How do I...?
[ quote=username]textyouarequoting[\quote ]
That is how you manually quote, but no spaces by the brackets.

Re: How do I...?
missmolly, you almost made it.
You just missed the / in the last code.
Ending a quote you need to write:
no spaces.
joym13: in this forum you need to write:
no spaces at the beginning.
The sofware needs the " too.

Knowing who is online...
So I have a question. How do you know when a person is online at the same time. I know how to tell is there are people. But is there a place where you can see exactly who is on at the moment, such that you could pm them then?
Another question:
Is there a way to get all recent posts in one list, regardless of what category they were posted into. Another forum I go to has a "Latest Posts" page and I see all the posts in order of when thew were posted chronologically. I would love there here!!!!!!

When you click on "home" and scroll to the bottom you will be able to see the users online at that time.
I'll have to check on the other. BRB!
Ok, back! Again, on the home page, at the top, you can click on "view posts since last visit" and you will see everything posted from the time you logged out.

That's right! I was on my iPod and forgot the " " . The spaces I just had there to keep it from quoting. Thanks!
